JUSTICE & GENUINE SECURITY FOR ALL – ALL PEOPLE, ALL RIGHTS

Did you know California is the fourth-largest economy in the world? Did you know 32 out of 50 AI firms are located in California and that out of the 3,028 billionaires in the world (with total net worth of approximately $16.1 Trillion) most are in the US and that California is home to more billionaires than any other state with roughly 200 residents holding fortunes exceeding one billion.

California has proposed a 5% wealth tax, California Billionaire Tax Actto support healthcare, public education and state food assistance programs. The tax would be payable in a single installment or over five years with interest. Some of California’s billionaires are talking about leaving the state to avoid paying the tax. The law has not yet been passed; it is an initiative and requires 875,000 signatures to get it on the November ballot. Last time a similar proposal was raised, Gov. Newsom opposed it.

So these Billionaires don’t seem to care about the needs of the people nor do they seem to understand that we are all inter-related. Harm to any part of the human family is harm to all. We can’t have a thriving human economy while the living systems of nature are being exploited and destroyed. The well-being of all of Life on Earth depends on clean air, fresh water, healthy soils, stable climate and diversity of species. These are the real foundations for prosperity for current and future generations.

But our government is budgeting a Trillion dollars this year for weapons and war. With 900 military bases, US corporations go charging anywhere in the world they want to extract resources of other countries at the point of a gun. And our pensions funds from retirement savings are invested in Black Rock, State Street , and Vanguard, and the like who in turn invest their funds in Lockheed, Raytheon, Boeing and Northrop Grumman and General Dynamics. All profit off of war. And now our tech companies are vying to get into that stream of income. The planet is being destroyed and humanity devastated.

Too many government officials and their political campaigns have their hands out to the war machine, and many more are funded by foreign country lobbies like AIPAC. Or there is that revolving door where elected officials vote on measures proposed by the corporate lobbyists and when they leave public office they go to work for their benefactor.

So we keep seeing our government murdering innocent civilians and pirating oil tankers.

I love Life. We have a duty to serve life, not destroy it. We human beings need to nurture life and in turn it will sustain our species. I care about my Grandchildren and like Native Americans I have been blessed to know, I feel responsibility to provide for future generations, even to the seventh generation beyond our own
Earth’s Charter in its preamble, sets forth values and principles for such a future for the human family. Our principles must be founded on:

1.  Respect for Nature;
2. Universal Human Rights;
3.  Economic Justice and
4.  A Culture of Peace.

No Nature, No Future

So the foreign policy of our country, and the investment policies of our State, impacts on our resources for the People.

So, you may ask, how can you as Attorney General influence the issues of war and peace? You can’t make the laws. You can’t set the budget.

But the Attorney General position is very powerful. Every state initiative proposed by the people must come to that office for a “Title” and “Summary.”  The AG can set forth true facts that influence the voters.

The AG’s office can sue the Federal Government and other entities when the rights of our Californians are being infringed and when our natural resources are endangered by actions of corporate actors.  If the AG has taken large contributions from companies causing harm to the human beings and other species, he/she might be less likely to pursue legal action to rectify that conduct.

Further, if a district attorney is prosecuting people who are lawfully and peacefully exercising their Constitutional Rights, the AG could intervene and put a stop to such violations of the law and Constitution. Likewise, if the Sheriff or other law enforcement personnel engage in unlawful conduct and criminal conspiracies, the AG on behalf of the People of California can bring legal action for redress of those crimes and grievances. The AG’s office has great investigative powers. And the AG has a bully pulpit, and can exert powerful influence in that manner.

There are commissions on judicial performance.  Sometimes Judges are biased and illegally influenced.

And the Attorney General’s office has oversight of the County Jails, run by the Sheriffs, and the State Prisons and could exert influence on those institutions. There could be programs established or supported for reconciliation and education and training and avoiding exploitation of the prison populations.

Were I the AG of the State of California, and were persons charged by the International Criminal Court with crimes against humanity and war crimes to enter our jurisdiction, we could arrest them as required under our Constitution to “prevent genocide” and we would deliver them to the Hague for trial.  We would not be dominated by a foreign state.

Murder has no statute of limitations. The chief law enforcement officer of the Great State of California could arrest and charge those complicit in murder and torture and remove them from their positions of power and influence.

No impunity for violations of human rights.
Create Genuine Security for All.
Justice for All People/All Rights.
Peace, Prosperity, and Future Life on the Planet.
